Updating on some of the new developments in the Purito sunscreen controversy with some new tasing available. More Korean sunscreens tested.
Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin. Today we are talking about a recent update to the Purito sunscreen scandal and some new testing which has become available.
Ever since the Purito sunscreen scandal broke ( showing the Purito unscented centella green level sun to be an spf of 19 not the advertised spf 50+) it has lead to a lot of doubts about the effectiveness of sunscreens globally and korean SPFs in particular.
New research by the Korea Institute of Dermatalogical Sciences however has retested the formulation and awarded it an spf of 28.4 which we will discuss in this video and talk through the implications.
Further testing of a whole host of popular Korean sunscreens will be released on 25th December by the institute and I hope this will provide some assurances over our favourite products.
Testing will include:
Make P:rem UV defence me fluid
Klaires Uv watery essence
Krave Beauty beet the sun
I would recommend everyone check out the Lab Muffin Beauty Science video on SPF testing which can be found here:
Links to the Korea Institute testing outcomes can be found here:
Products Mentioned:
Purito Unscented Centella Green Level Sun
Purito Comfy Water Sun
Please note that Purito are offering refunds on their sunscreens if you would like to seek your money back then please head to their website for more information.
xx
