Helping you to find the right exfoliating acid from THE ORDINARY – from azelaic acid to mandelic acid and salicylic acid find the one which best fits your skin type.
Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin. In this video we explore the exfoliating acids at the Ordinary, helping you to get the best exfoliation at drugstore prices with an acid which matches your skin type.
Whatever your skin type there is a drugstore exfoliator for you and keep watching if you would like to be paired with your perfect product.
Glycolic acid – the most common of the AHA acid exfoliators and will give the quickest results and is suitable for people with oily, combination or normal skin types.
Salicylic acid – goes where other acids cant, deep into the pore and does a deep clean of the skin. Perfect for people with oily and blemish prone skin.
Lactic acid – With a large molecule size it gives a more gentle exfoliation and is unique amongst the exfoliating acids as it also hydrates as it goes and so is perfect for exfoliation beginners or those with dry skin.
Mandelic acid – The gentle exfoliator with the largest molecule size and almost no side effects or irritation. You will see results slower than with the other acids but without any of the redness and irritation, making it perfect for those with sensitive skin.
Azelaic acid – The perfect all rounder which whilst not strictly an exfoliating acid will work in a similar way to brighten the skin and prevent breakouts. What makes this acid special is that it actually works with the skin to reduce redness and the side effects of rosacea and is also anti microbial so will prevent acne caused by bacteria. A Holy Grail for all skin types.
